About Us

Our Rooms and Amenities

Our property features 6 queen suites (sleep 2 per room), and 12 double queen suites (sleep 4 per room).  All the suites have been freshly renovated with top of the line mattresses, sheets, and black out blinds to encourage a restful nights stay.  The suites have AC, a mini fridge and microwave, table and chair set, and wardrobe.

The center of each unit features it’s own unique fire place mantel.  They have been salvaged from various homes on the island, with some mantels dating back as early as the year 1885.  The art work on the wall is designed by an artist (Eric Goggin) in New Brunswick who has created vintage travel poster to reflect various local sites and monuments.     Each unit has use of 2 Adirondack chairs nestled in sand, and is greeted with a hand-made door mat weaved from lobster rope by a local artist (Bonnie Ralph).  Our suites are smoke free and pet free.

Our Location

Our favorite things to do here as a family:

  • HIT THE BEACH!  North Rustico beach is a kilometer long with soft sand, water that heats to 18 C in the summer, and a scenic red cliff view.  Whether your swimming, building sand castles, relaxing, or combing the beach for sea glass- you won't be disappointed. Life guards on site in July thru August.  More must-see beaches: Cavendish, Brackley,  Basin Head and Thunder Cove.
  • HIT THE BOARDWALK!  The town has built a boardwalk along the Harbour edge that we just can’t get enough off.  Walk it at sunset, or ride a bike along- many beautiful sites to admire and wildlife to see. Discover all the fun names of the fisherman’s boats.  Head over to Bob's for an ice cream treat, and tour the free fisherman's museum and view of the North Rustico Light house, built in 1876.
  • HIT THE PARK! Seawalk park has multiple free activities that take place all year-round.  From the Tree lighting at Christmas, an amazing fire works show on Canada Day, and outstanding music hitting the outdoor stage Wednesday evenings (July 4th-Aug 29th)- this is the place to hang out.  Tuesday and Thursday mornings feature games and crafts for the kids, as well as beach fit and yoga in the park.
  • BIKE IT OR HIKE IT!  Jump on multiple trails for some exercise and stunning views.  Cavendish Grove, the Homestead Trail, Gulf Shore Parkway, the Haunted Woods, and Lover's Lane are just a few of our most loved stomping grounds.  Bike and Kayak rentals are available at Outside Expeditions.

Our Story

In 2016, my husband, Nathan Cutler, and I (Sarah) were searching for an employment and life style change. We decided to take a road trip across Canada for some inspiration.  So we packed up our 4 kids, jumped in our mini van, and started our trek from British Columbia out to the East Coast.

Side note: if you are thinking about doing this yourself, don’t wait! We have the most amazing country! It is full of history, beauty, wildlife, and wonderful people.

When we arrived at the Confederation Bridge (7 days, 5300 km later), I was overcome with awe by a spirit of serenity- staring out to where the ocean and sky meet, this beautiful bridge connecting the province to the rest of it’s whole. The Island was calling to me!  I knew instantly that Prince Edward Island was our home.

The next 3 days we spent on the Island, were filled not only with sight-seeing, but the question of how could we make moving to PEI a reality for our family?  We decided to look at all sorts of businesses that were for sale, which led us to discover the Saint Nicholas Motel in North Rustico.  It was perfect- great bones, and amazing location!

We officially began operating the motel six weeks later, on July 29th, 2016. We changed the name to North Rustico Harbour Inn and put our business on the web.  We decided to renovate the existing building  from it’s 1983 status to a comfortable, new and modern beach theme.

We were honoured to receive  a 4 star rating with Canada Select. And thanks to the generous praise of our guests, we won the "loved by guest award" with hotels.com for 2018.   We are tremendously grateful to all our family, friends, staff, community, and guests for their love and support to make this dream possible!

As we go into the future, we will continually be updating our grounds and services to provide a comfortable and memorable stay for our guests.  We hope that you will choose to stay with us for your next visit to PEI!  We look forward to meeting you, and hearing about your story!
